mental ray or vray?

I would just like to ask which render you would choose if you have got the option vray or mental ray? (Take the money out of the equation) The reason i ask is that i have been looking at vray but it does look pretty complicated to use and there does not seem to be to many tutorials. There does seem to be a few books on the subject so if vray is that much better i would get some of these books.

V-ray now used from most of famous artist, i think result with V-ray even more realistic , also a lot of tutorials you can find on youtube
